There is a lot of debate in the world today about the energy crisis and about ways that we can contribute to the solution.

If you’re like me, then you occasionally get a bit overwhelmed with all the information out there. Sometimes it feels as though the only solutions out there are multinational solutions?. Instead, I want to hear about the small changes that I as an individual can make that will help our energy crisis. So I’ve done a little creative thinking for everyone’s sake and have come up with a few basic methods of alternative energy that pretty much anyone can follow.

Reduce your fuel consumption in your car by reducing the amount that you drive. Very strange solutions will never work. But perhaps we can all look for little and simple ways to share rides to reduce how much we drive every day. Use techniques like carpooling or leaving one car at home to help with the energy crisis. Or even better, look for every occasion to walk or ride a bike.

One of the simplest things you can do to help the energy dilema is to simply turn your lights off during daylight hours. How often do you see an office and they have their lights at full power while the sun shines right through the window? So take a good look around you and see what extra lights and other gizmos you have plugged in that you really don’t need to use. The chances are high that everyone reading this has a at least one little thing that they could reduce energy consumption each day. If you would like to save on utilities as well as save the planet, then you might want to consider creating your own electricity by learning the art of solar panel building The world may not be changed by one more order from the government, but it just might be changed as individuals do their part in helping find and use methods of alternative energy.
