Many of us have had to change the way we lived our lives because of the economy and the recession that hurt a lot of people. This recession had us rethinking the way we spend money. It made us look for ways to cut costs and expenses here and there in order to survive.

The strange thing is that the recession made many prices jump, including foods, heating oil and gasoline. That’s why many of us seeked out logical solutions to reduce overspending and wasting. As we did this, we did cut costs, and we did do something better for the environment.

Many of us turn to small appliances like a portable space heater, among others. So, they cut spending and needless waste, and all the while, did some good for the environment as they reduced consumption.

There are many to choose from such as the DeLonghi space heater. The fact is, you can turn down your heating throughout the entire home and just focus on the room that you are currently in. So there is no energy being wasted, hence you are saving money.

There’s a lot of things that can be done to further benefit the environment as well as your pocket. Most people don’t think outside the box, unfortunately. For example, how many paper towels do you use when you spill a glass of juice? Some can use up to an entire roll. Instead, use a rag. Although many people don’t like to do use them, it is a better solution. But, you can also use a vacuum wet dry.

That’s a lot of trees being wasted for nothing if you opt for the paper towels. But this little appliance is a greener way and in the end more economical. They don’t cost a lot and they will last for many years. The cleanup is easy and quick, regardless of whether it’s a wet spill or a dry one.

These little efforts will make a huge difference not only for your pocket but also for your environment. Protecting our planet is the key for the future generations. If you don’t feel this way, just think of your own children having to grow up in a world that is a far cry from what we know it today.
